ROCKLIN CITY HALL
There are a number of important offices and roles at City Hall, which is located at 3970 Rocklin Road, including elected and non-elected positions:
The Code Compliance department is located in the historic City Hall.
As an employee store, Adolf Pernu built Rocklin's City Hall in 1912 for his California Granite Company. Over the front entrance, a granite frontispiece has the 1912 date engraved on it.
In 1931, Pernu died in a quarry accident in Rocklin Sequoia National Park, and creditors of Pernu seized the building as Rocklin's quarry businesses faltered in the Great Depression.
Since 1941, Rocklin City Hall has been housed in this building. Rocklins old timers remember that the library occupied the first floor in the early 1940s, and City Council meetings took place on the second floor.
Chung Moon, a businessman from Hawaii, moved to California in 1912 and operated a market there until the late 1930s. After buying the home across the street of Dr. Henry Fletcher, his family moved into the second floor. Currently, the Rocklin History Museum is located at the Fletcher home.
